- The titles font is modern, I used brushes to add the curls and swirls. I like how I formed each swirl around the shape of the letter.
- The swirls coming from the picture of Charika are highlighted in white so it didn't blend in as much with the background.
- The background has texture to it. It is interesting but doesn't over power the rest of the design.
- The frilly bits repeat.
Not So Lovely Stuff
- The text in the introduction is hard to read.
- The swirls coming from the frame are to transparent so they are too sublte.
- The text layout looks to squashed together in places.
- I added a filter to Charika to make her look more like a painting, but it only looks obvious if you look closely.
- There is a black border around the frame where the background of the photo wasn't deleted properly in Photoshop.
Ways To Improve
- I could bevel the image of Charika and add effects such as 'Underpainting', 'Dark Strokes' and 'Water Colour' so it looks more like a painting rather than a photo placed inside a frame.
- I could put more shadows and outer glow/ inner glow on the text to make it stand out more and make it easy as possible to read.
- I could spend more time editing the title, to make sure all the white highlights around the edge are gone.
- I could find a larger picture of a frame to make it less pixelated.
- I could've used better colouring. Red and dark green can clash. But they contrast well. So the foreground and background are easy to identify.
My Client is pleased with my work. I have learnt lots of things along the way. Including a better understanding of how to use Photoshop and how to use InDesign.
